So yesterday was okay, I lost six bucks at canasta and won fourteen at poker. It filled the day pretty good I guess. I just keep looking down at the seat where Sarge always sat and expect to see his face though, not some other guy.
Today I get to see my MahJong gals and they always cheer me up pretty good. I really don't care if I win or lose, I just want to play.
I didn't get lonely yesterday, I was so busy I didn't have time to think, run from one activity to the next. That's good but not something I can do every day, I don't have the energy for it but will go as fast as I can for as long as I can.
I had cake yesterday. It was counted in my daily points so it's okay but I just thought I'd tell you I had it since I don't have it often any more. It was delicious too, homemade, no frosting, moist and delicious. The gal that made it told me it was really easy to make but I told her if I made it I'd just eat it so I'd better not.
I've been doing a bit better cooking for one. It's easy to make something and have leftovers for days but harder to just cook one meal. Something I have never in my entire life done.
I didn't renew my Sam's club membership because why would I want to buy such big packages of stuff now? Plus I still have the Costco membership tied to my credit card so that's all I need.
Seems like I don't have much to say that's interesting today so I'll quit. If I think of something brilliant I'll come back later. But don't hold your breath.
Have a lovely Wednesday y'all. Me too...

32 notes:
I think everything you say is brilliant so there. I'm glad you had a busy day. I know you love your Wednesday game too. Have fun.
Have a terrific day. Big hugs honey. :)
Learning to cook smaller meals was hard. After cooking for two very hungry teenagers, cooking for two old people has been a challenge!
Somethings would be nice to still cook double...stuff you can freeze. That way, you'll always have a healthy, ready made meal you can pop out of the freezer.
I have lived on my own before my marriage and family and now I am once again cooking for one... let me tell you it is not too hard and having a little extra to freeze is always nice
That way I always have a quick meal when I need it. Even with my son here we don't always eat at the same time.
Does Weight Watcher have a cooking guide or recipes for one ? They must have some online recipes.
cheers, parsnip
B...... I think about you often :)
Keeping busy is good but, as you say, you can't be busy all the time and those times must be the hardest. Enjoy MahJong today with your friends. x
I'm like Callie. I think of you often. Wish I knew the magic words or had a magic wand or some such, but haven't found them yet.
I got my letter back from the Fern House marked as "Return to Sender," which really ticked me off, especially after I verified the address. Sent it off again, wish it could've Been for a lot more.
Have a super Wednesday, my friend...

Buongiorno!
A little busy, some hours with a friendly company, some games, a bit of cooking...your organisation will help you!
Don't be afraid of sad moments, it's natural, and you can develop the loss slowly and try to remember with sweetness!
Big hugs!
xoxoxo
My mother use to cook for 12 every day. She had a terrible time figuring out how to make small meals when everybody finally moved out. Then she discovered my favorite kind of cooking... cook once, eat thrice! Or more! Prepare leftovers of single size servings to pop into the freezer. You'll figure out which works best for you.
After my divorce I found Publix rotisserie chicken! Cook nonce! Well, I'd steam a few vegetables and pop a small tater in the microwave. Fabulous after working all day!. And cheap and fast. That's what worked for me. Not to mention I lost lots of weight.
I really need to get back to that. My Dad is killing me with all the sweets he has to have on hand!
Why didn't I get THAT gene?
Big hugs xoxo
yes, honey, have a lovely day too. Thinking of you always.
hugs, JJ
I still haven't gotten the knack for cooking for only one. I tried the frozen food entrees, but they all seem to taste funny. Food doesn't really appeal to me--I eat if I am hungry--that's all. I think I will make a big pot of chili and I can freeze some and eat on the rest for days and days. I still am just stumbling along--thoughts and mind elsewhere. I am glad you live where you do and have easy access to lots of people--if you want. They keep telling me it is important to "get out" and be with people, but sometimes....I just want to sit in my chair and stare. You are doing good, Bee--you are doing good!!!!
Staying busy helps...if you don't overdo. You are ALWAYS interesting, my dear, so write just what you want to write. You have eager readers who love you.
Big hugs from up the road, honey...
Just stopped in to say HI!!! Have a good day but don't wear yourself out! You need to take some down time.
Hugs

It's just me and my hubby at home and we have never had big store memberships. It's too much of everything for just a two of us :)
Hugs from Ohio,
I.
I also think of you often, dear Bee.
I'm glad that you were able to keep busy yesterday, but you're right it can't be like that all the time.
I hope you have fun at MahJong today!
take care
XOXO
I look forward to you every day!!! When we were living in the States, we had a Sams card thingy and we bought in bulk some items, especially baking type stuff...miss it. I am glad you were busy and had some fun! Enjoy your girls today!!! Lots of love, hugs & prayers :)
I found the same thing about Sam's once all my kids were grown. Don't need big packages of stuff any more! That's why I don't cook much any more either. Enjoy your MahJong game and your friends. Hugs!
We fink yoos need a kitty to cook fur!
Sending our daily furry hugs,
Abby
When I was single I lived off chicken breasts and veggies... I'm one who loves to cook, have difficulty cooking for two, and hates leftovers on most things. They just don't taste the same.
So glad you have a mah jong group. friends like that area such a blessing.
Hugs!
P.S. $20? Party!!!!
Busy is OK. Cake is OK. If I think of a better comment I'll come back later. But don't you hold your breath either!
you're always brilliant Auntie Bee!!
I whapped the mom in the head last night while i was laying behind her on the cowch. She hollered "HEY" and I just looked at her with the "dont' look at me, I'm just laying here sleeping" look. - xoxoxoxoxo your Sammie Pie
Bet is making cherry pie today, it's tradition here at the farm to always have cherry pie today. But I have to make pineapple upside down cake - the pineapple is staring at me from the fridge. I'll pop it in the freezer for another day. Lots of seeds to sow and maybe some more lambs, enjoy MahJong today.
Looks to me like a passel of folks seem to think that you DO have something interesting to say! Besides, this is your blog so you get to say what you want to say when you want to say it!
I have to applaud your restraint in just having one piece of cake from time to time, especially knowing how you feel about cake!
And as for cleaning stuff out like in your previous post, I really want to do that myself. Especially considering that if I throw something out I probably won't remember that I did so I'll never miss the thing that I threw out to begin with. Hope that makes some sense!
just checking in on you Bee. xx
Have fun with your friends today. It's he best kind of therapy.
Rosemary here: I love cake I love cookies I love sugar. I am very fortunate that I am thin, but I love sugar and butter sooooooo much.
I have not been in bloggie land. I am keeping busy doing other stuff because computering makes me stiff.
I got your card. :-) you are the sweetest and I just wish you lived in Virginia. then I would be doing stuff with you.
Today I had jury duty but after sitting around for two hours (I had to get up really early and be there by 8:00 sharp as I was told on the papers, but it seems most people showed up at 8:30 and 9, well darnnn) so finally they called us into the court room to get the questions from the lawyers to choose the jurors and well they were not interested in me. I was appalled. This was a dunk driving case -- they guy was a fire fighter volunteer and what what he driving drunk? a fire truck. He claimed he was innocent. I was honest and told them I could not be a fair juror, so I was out of there before noon.
Take advantage of your freezer and you can divide your meals up so you do not have to eat the same stuff every evening. I know it is hard.
I do understand that everything is hard still, breathing is hard sometimes.
I am constantly praying for you, and God will not let go of you.
This is a new life you have to learn and it will take a very long time to get comfortable with it. I am just so thankful you have good family to lean on. And your liberal lady friends -- I cannot fathom how you can tolerate that, I would go nuts just knowing that they are loving the hope and change.
take care of yourself missie. You can use that mugrug all year round. You are loved so much.
I better run off now. Miles is up to something upstairs -- it sounds like he is taking something apart O_o
hugs bonks and love
^ wow, look at that up there.
I wrote a novel =D
Busy, but productive day, so just stopping by to send my hugs and love.
I know what you mean I still can't cook for 1, even when I cooked for 2 I always made too much food and freezed it. Linda
