(where we wish we were!)
Well the weekend is upon us again. Hey I got kicked out of physical therapy! Well, not really kicked out, but told I should take a break as I can't have any more of the steroids now and I have exercises to do at home and then I should go back in a few months if I need more. Maybe I graduated? Or got kicked out? Either way, I no longer go now.
This first of the company arrived last night. This one is an absolute joy.
Sarge's aide that bathes him is named Adrienne. She comes m-f. Today and tomorrow someone else comes so I don't know their name yet. Adrienne told him to make sure they do something and not just sit there and talk. And she told me to go play cards all I want and to ask for a volunteer to come so I can go. She said I will do better if I get out. We'll see.
Gosh y'all have been so supportive, I am so grateful for all the lovely comments and well wishes. There have even been offers of cookies but I declined as the ww points add up too fast. But the thought was lovely. There are some wonderful people on this good earth I tell you. There really are.
Now go have a lovely Saturday, I know I will.

20 notes:
We are getting snowed in again this weekend and of course I am loving it :) I hope you & Sarge have a wonderful weekend! Love, prayers & hugs to you both :)
My advice would be to pick your favorite games and get the volunteer to come on that day (or days). Arrange in advance and if you feel like canceling one or more of those days, you can. Sometimes volunteers can be hard to find on short notice. We once arranged for a volunteer to sit with a patient while her daughter, a concert pianist, practiced in the next room. The daughter was relieved to know her mom was being monitored and her mom was relieved to know her daughter was doing something that pleased her. The volunteer was treated to beautifully played classical music. Win-win-win.
I know this sounds strange, but know you understand, I really love my job. It's a ministry to me and it sounds like it's that way for Adrienne, too. She's thinking of all involved as one unit, for that's what you are.
At the risk of repeating myself...I think of you both every day and wish you well.
Kicked out of physical therapy? But...but... you didn't even have a chance to do anything outrageous! Like give everyone a tiara to wear!
Kisses and hugs. Say hello to duck for me, and big hugs to Ayla and Aero too.
Buongiorno!
I'm glad that d#1 is there, and Sarge is aided well!
I wish you all a serene week end!
Big hugs!
Well, I think you should stick with you got kicked out. It sounds lots more outrageous and you do outrageous so well.
It sounds like Adrienne is wonderful and caring. I think it's a great idea to have a volunteer so you can get out when you want.
Hooray for an absolute joy for company! Big hugs xoxo
Adrienne is right, it is important that you get some 'you' time so take her advice. Reiki still winging it's way to Sarge. xx
I agree. It sounds spunky that you got kicked out of PT
It amazed me--the number of supportive comments I got on my blog--from people I have never met!!! We become friends through our blogs--love the internet!!! Some blog friends seem closer to me and "get me" more then some friends I have had for 60 years! Keeping track of you everyday Ms. Bee!
I'm sure Sarge wants you to get out and see your friends. It's important to have that outlet.
Glad your company is an absolute joy.
I'm guessing who she is. ;-)
Thinking of you both and sending hugs.
Just wanted to say I am thinking of you and Sarge.....may you have a wonderful time with your company! There is nothing better than having support from those you love and those that love you!
Hugs
Lynn
Have a wonderful day with your company Bee. Make sure you get your rest too.
I think I will stay snuggled in my jammies today and I have a stupid cold. Yuck.
Hugs and lots of love to you and Sarge,
Bobbi
Those are some really great volunteers. Such a good fortune to know how well everything is being taken care of. Have a great weekend!
Rudee has some good advice.
Glad you have your fun visitor this weekend. Does wonders!
maybe on a good day I can "virtually" drop by for a visit...
I know you are both getting just the right hugs/love therapy from your visitor. Bask in it. Enjoy the volunteers...I can come next Friday!
Big hugs till then...take good care of yourself, honey...
I agree with Barb, stick with the story that they kicked you out and that way we can all be outraged for you!
Adrienne sounds like a dear, I hope that Sarge's other aid is just as nice. How can they not be? He's such a sweeetheart you just want to spoil the beejeebers out of him!
And you are spot on, there are some really lovely people in the world and my thought is that they outweigh the stinkers by at least 2 to 1. The problem is, you hear more about the stinkers than you do the sweeties it seems.
A big hug to both you and Sarge and I hope you have a lovely weekend there in Paradise.
well hey, you would rather be kicked out than just quit.. My husband threatened to quit every day but he did the whole course with the exercises.. don't ask if he is still doing them. :)
You and Sarge just take it easy and enjoy your company and the extra help. I'm praying for y'all!!
Hey, Grammy. I love you. I don't even know what you are doing right this minute but I am just sitting here, praying for you and praying for Mom and praying for Pop Pop, for peace for all three of you guys. I love you, I love you, I love you.
Hi Miss Bee,
I cried a bit earlier in the week when I read your post about Sarge. Even though I've never met you or Sarge, I've been a faithful reader of both of your blogs and you both just seems to be really nice people. Anyway, I just wanted to say that you both are in my prayers each day.
It's a beautiful warm day today (I'm in southern California), so it will be a lovely Saturday!
Clair
Hi Miss Bee, I am just sitting here in Oregon doing a little house work. Waiting for the phone call that my grammy passed.. she is on the moraphine now and can't eat or talk. So I am hoping she passes soon. I love you Miss Bee.. so happy Cat is there. Later Sweetie
Dearest Bee,
You have been making sure that Sarge has been and is being taken great care of - please you take care of yourself too.
Even the most devoted of people need a short break once in a while.
Good they were honest that you'd been on the steroids long enough and should take a break. With you doing the exercises at home, you may not even need to go back later.
My warm and loving thoughts are with you and Sarge, honey.
Many many many hugs to you both.
Glad Daughter #1 is there, and the Duck too, and the helpers, like Adrienne and Kaye
Sarge is surrounded in person by those who love him, and in cyber space by those who love him too.
Hugs again for you, Bee.
Love,
