So we had a lovely weekend with the kids around and it was so nice. All is quiet here now and that's also good!
We have Dr. Green with Dr. Scoma this afternoon. I do think the procedure worked because Sarge is feeling and breathing a bit better and not coughing nearly as much. What a relief, that poor guy suffered so much.
So I was thinking, I know I know but still, it happens. Anyway I was thinking about smells. And why people want to smell a certain way. I know some people (not me) like perfumes and stuff and that's up to them as long as they don't assault me with it or wear it in restaurants, fine. But other than that, smells are funny. Like for instance why do people want laundry detergent that smells? I mean certainly you don't want to make the statement "I smell like laundry detergent" do you? Of course not. So why do they make it in so many different smells. I only buy unscented stuff and totally don't understand it.
I think I should at least comment on the dreadful Costa accident. Sarge and I sailed on Costa twice, once in the Caribbean on the Costa Magica and then a transatlantic on the Costa Mediterranea. Both were wonderful cruises. I love Costa. The food is fabulous, really Mediterranean, and the crew are always wonderful. The candies they put on your pillow at night are wonderful Italian chocolates. The only thing I had as a negative was everything was said in five languages and after a bit it gets old. But I will say they were extremely good about the boat safety drill and instructions for emergencies. I don't want to voice any opinion about the tragedy until I know the facts. I do know the Captain was arrested and that saddened me deeply as did the entire incident. I simply cannot imagine the horror these poor people endured. I hope for everyone concerned that the outcome is that it was truly an unavoidable accident and nothing more. We shall see. Keep an open mind.
Hopefully I'll be back to visiting y'all today. I am so sorry to have not been around much. I'll do better.
Have a great Monday everyone. I know I will.

15 notes:
What happened on that cruise ship is the biggest reservation I have about taking a cruise. That looked so awful and I feel sad about the loss of life.
Well since they take this same route all the time, it is hard to believe that this island just came out of nowhere, so someone messed up and I am not so sure it was an accident. Carnival owns this company too. One of my fears of cruising! Hugs :)
When I read about this I thought about you right away.
Happy to hear you had a lovely weekend and the news about Sarge feeling better... Yea for good news !
The Square Ones say woof !
cheers, parsnip
So glad to hear Sarge is feeling better. Nothing as nice as having all the family round is there? The cruise ship sinking is a terrible tragedy, goodness knows how all those people must have felt. :(
Buongiorno!
Glad that you had the kids around and that Sarge feels better, less cough and more energy!
The Concordia drama is awful, things are not clear, the captain was arrested...
My thought went to you and friends!
Have a serene Monday, and good news from the docs!
Big hugs!
I had not heard the Captain had been arrested. It is just dreadful, especially the lives lost.
I'm so glad to hear Sarge is feeling better. Wishing you both a perfectly lovely Monday. Big hugs xoxo
I like the colors of your beads today.
The cruise incident is tragic and unfortunate. Considering percentages, cruises are still extremely safe. We fly, we drive, and we cruise. Accidents happen everywhere, but we have to keep trying to make our experiences as safe as possible.
What a horrifying experience for those people! I was expecting you to comment on it.
I agree that we have to hope it was an unavoidable accident.
It's good to read that Sarge is feeling better!
Enjoy the day, you two!
So glad Sarge is doing better. Good luck today!
Big hugs, honey...
Crossing my fingers for a good report at the doc's today. I'm so glad you spent time with the kids.
It's snowy and icy up here in the PNW. Oy vey...
I'm glad that Sarge seems to be doing better. Glad the procedure helped-even though it was such an ordeal at the time!
Glad to hear that Sarge is doing better. He deserves a break, doesn't he?
Have a good restful Sunday!
Fran
We'll be on the Spirit this coming Friday. I'm not going to finger point as I don't have all the fact either. In my career I learned that if you're not in the arena you need to keep your mouth shut until all the facts are in and the investigation is completed. Too bad most everyone is a Monday morning quarterback.
Have a terrific day honey and I'm so happy that Sarge is feeling better. Big hugs. :)
scary stuff, that costa ship! i hope we find out soon what happened. so sad. :[
I hear ya on the laundry detergent smells! I remember as a child each brand had its own "fragrance" but you had to stick your head in the box (or jug) to actually smell it, maybe the laundry room smelled like your brand if you were doin' laundry all day. Then a while back I noticed more and more people smelled like a certain laundry product. I would wonder if they had used too much or if the rinse cycle on their machine was broken. Now it is like an epidemic. Since we have acquired neighbors we have also managed to acquire neighbors who like over powered laundry product. It is unnerving to go out in our pasture at night and only smell some one's laundry - it is creepy.
