Well y'all know today is canasta and poker by now. This is not the same necklace at yesterday, this one is with silver, the other one was with gold. This one is only 16", a choker on most people.
So let me tell you about my dental check-up. He asked me what I was doing differently and I said nothing, Crest spin brush, Water Pik, same stuff. A minute later it hit me, I switched toothpaste! My gums were perfect! What am I using? Crest Pro-Health clinical gum protection. Obviously it worked for the dentist to comment. This is NOT a paid ad either, just an opinion. I still have to go back in three months though. Buggers to that. But I will say nothing hurt at all, they always use that high powered water thingy instead of scraping and sometimes it used to hurt a bit. No more. So there you go, you heard it here first.
Oh, and another thing I recently tired. Those cranberry sparkling drinks. I wouldn't buy them again. Enough about that.
Gosh all I seem to be talking about is products today. Sort of a theme of the day. I heard a pretty funny joke but I don't remember it. Typical of me. Tell me a good one and ask me if I heard any jokes 20 minutes later. I'll tell you yes but won't know what they are.
Vidalia onions are in season now. Have you ever had an onion pie? Delicious. The one I used to make had cream in it and some kind of cheese but I don't remember what kind, maybe Swiss and I made homemade pie crust too. Onion pies are totally tits. There are lots of recipes online but I wish I had mine. I made it for a side dish for Christmas once. It's lots better in June though when the Vidalias are around.
That reminds me of Erma Bombeck. She once said if you want to sell your home when people are coming to look at it toss an onion in the oven. The aroma makes it smell like home. I agree with her. Gosh I loved that woman! She died way too young. If you haven't read all of her books you really should.
Guess that's about all I know today. Have a wonderful day y'all. I know I will.

20 notes:
Hmm. Onion pie sounds tasty.
I like the silver and the clasp is really pretty.
Buongiorno!!!
You find onion pie under Zwiebelwähe, swiss onion pie, I learnt it years ago in Switherland!
I bake it very often!
Emmentaler or Gruiere cheese!
You also find the recipe on....cucinario!!!
Have a great lucky Tuesday!!!
Hugs!!!
Onion pie sounds interesting, for sure. Never had it & not sure I'd like it since I don't really like onions but love the taste of them! Hope you have a good day! Hugs :)
Well, I will be the first to say, EWWWWW! to onion pie. Sadly onions are on my top 5 yucky foods list. Followed closely by liver, garlic, hot peppers and olives.
Hope you have a great canasta/poker day.
Erma B was a hoot! I would agree about smelling onion and garlic, which are staples in this house. Makes everybody breathe deeply and say "mmmmm... when do we eat?.
Which reminds me... I need to make some Chicken Pie this weekend!
Have a lovely day! xoxo
Oops, I think there is an idiot in the house, wonder who.........
Pretty! I do miss Erma's humor and wisdom. I have a good Vidalia onion casserole over at dyerdining.
Good luck. Big hugs honey...
Onion pie sounds delicious! I make a creamy onion soup that is really good, but we don't often. Get good onions around here. Erma. Bombeck was one of my favors, I have a lot of her books and. Have read them over and over.
Not so sure about onions, not everyone like them (I don't). I have heard real estate agents say apple pie, though.
I started using the same kind of toothpaste and got the same response from my dentist. This stuff works!!!
Our real estate agent told us to put cookies in the oven before the open house. Guess it worked - house sold in 3 weeks! Of course that was back when the market was good.......I digress.
I will try the new toothpaste for sure. I miss Erma Bombeck too.
Just booked a November cruise to Aruba, Curacao and Princess Cays with 3 sea days. Cruise was a good deal; airfare to Ft. Lauderdale was outrageous. You are so lucky to be able to drive to the ports.
Tuesday, your favorite day of the week, along with Monday, Wednesday, Thursday... Just saying. I love your attitude.
I'll try the Crest. Way cool.
I loved Erma too. She was one funny and most of all smart lady. Yes she was taken from us way too soon.
Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs to you both. :)
Thanks for the tip on the toothpaste Bee, I'll see if they have it in the supermarket here.
I got a joke for you -
A man met a woman in a bar.
They had a few drinks together and he took her home and she invited him in.
One thing led to another and they ended up in bed.
The following morning the man noticed a photograph of a man on the bedside cabinet.
He asked the woman "Is that your husband?"
"No" she said.
"Is it your boyfriend?"
"No".
"Is it your brother?"
"No".
"Who is it then?" he asked.
"Me, six months ago" she said.
Hope you didn't find it too rude ;)
LOL at that joke...
Woke up way too late today. Crashed at 730pm and woke up at 9am.
I use that biotene toothpaste. I have difficulty with minty toothpaste. tastes yucky...
I am officially volunteering for the taste test of Ivan's onion pie tips!
I loved Erma, used to read her in the paper everyday and bought a book or two of hers. She made real life so honest and funny.
YAY today we got a bit of rain and cooler temps.
Hugs,
Bobbi
I love the blueberry cranberry sparkling drink, but I guess you are in the majority and I am in the minority; I can not find it lately. Onion pie sounds delicious; I will try making it soon along with fried green tomatoes.
You could put soap in a good pie crust and I'd eat it! Seriously, onion pie sounds fantastic! I also love French onion soup with the melted/broiled cheese. I was surprised to read that you don't like garlic. I can't cook w/o it - but I would for you!
~~~Erma's column on putting on panty house remains a classic - even if you had never worn them. That's the funniest thing I ever read!
~~~Blessings~~~
