Sunday and other stuff...

This is Sarge on the Carnival Dream in August. I just wanted to see it today because I think he's cute. He also owes me $8.00 but who's counting.

Lauren in Oregon asked me to see a picture of the man's necklace I did for someone but I'm sorry, it's already in the mail. I am going to do one for a grandson and will photograph that one, okay, it will be similar.

We have another granddaughter now with dreads. That makes two. Of four. (I didn't say "dreadful" but I might have thought it.) I know times change and styles change but really, dreads? Really?

I guess in my generation Elvis (the pelvis) was pretty scandalous and I loved that. And the long hair on the Beatles. And mini skirts. I suppose my grandmother didn't much like any of that so I am trying really really hard to understand all this stuff. Failing, but still trying.

So cards went pretty well yesterday, it was a good game. As far as the club goes no decision has been made of yet so I will just continue to go there until it either recovers or closes. Hopefully it will recover. The snowbirds are coming back in flocks now and the Canadians won't take any of their krap, they know how to tell them what they think. Yay for Canadians! That club is about as bad off as a rubber nosed woodpecker in a petrified forest.

Well have yourself a lovely Sunday y'all. I know I will.

lala, you'd be pretty in a mohawk - not suggesting, but true, just the same!
~~~Bee, I'm just so glad my kids are grown. We survived the 80s big hair with our girls. I remember wearing a beehive clear to the ceiling, along with concealer instead of lipstick. On top of that was jet black eye makeup. My dad called me "Lupe." Oy, it was not pretty...
I'm just thankful I don't have boys wandering around with their underpants hanging out. I'll be SO glad when that fad is over!!!
~~~Blessings~~~

I remember my Mum and Dad being somewhat disgusted with the mini skirt fashion when I was a teenager. It's natural I suppose. ;)

I'm with you, Bee. Dreads dont look cute on ... umm, er... non ethnic kids. I like em fine on folks whose hair grows like that, as long as they aren't the big clumpy dog-matted kind of dreads, YUK! I also remember how much every female relative of mine hated my "Cher bangs", but at least I could brush my hair.

Fortunately these fads do go away:) Now that Sarge is one fad that is here to STAY. Just sayin'. Pay up, Sarge!

Big hugs, honey...

Good morning Bee. That photo of Charlie on the Dream reminds us on the Dream in January. Ah so long ago.
I never cared for those dreads, they are dread ful. Yah, Canadians are pretty good people Bee. Have a great day my friend.

My mother and grandmother use to take my patched, hole-y, frayed jeans - which were totally "in" back then - and throw them away when I wasn't home.

That Sarge had better honor his debts! He wouldn't want to become a deadbeat hubby!

Big hugs :]

A good woodpecker analogy!

Love the woodpecker analogy. I just love your southern sayings. They just tell it like it is.

What who woulda thunk it said. That sizes it up for me too.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hug to you both. :)

I remember when I used to go out in my little mini skirts and skinny rib sweaters and my mother used to say to me,"Whatever do you think you look like. Put something decent on, and get that fringe cut. How can you see where you are going."

I don't think I'd be any too keen on dreads either but I guess I'd put up with it if I had to (while secretly calling them 'dreadful' every chance I got!)

Sarge is sure a cutie, too bad he's a welch! Oh wait, wait ... I see in a comment above that he gave you the $8! I guess I can take that back then!

Love the expression about the woodpecker! Too funny.

Hope you had a nice Sunday. Ours was quiet.

Okay so here's a little story for the dreads thing. My oldest was a teen right at the time of short spiky bleached white sometimes colored bright colors hair. So, cuz she was a nice kid and always with me and a hard worker here at the farm and never rebellious or even snotty, I let her cut and bleach her hair. It was fun, heck I have an eyebrow ring. I like doin' weird stuff. Well after a good long while and a few different twists and turns with the hair, she and I were talking about it. She said it wasn't worth it, she got so much greif from other folks, the parent aged people thought for sure that she was being rebellious (some of them were actually looking forward to her being rebellious) and the younger ones thought she was cuttin' loose, the guys hit on her more and harder and the girls thought for sure she would want to go do the scandalous things that she wouldn't when her hair was normal. She said it wasn't all that hard to resist but it drove her nuts that people thought she had changed completely on the inside. But I still have my eyebrow ring and at one time I wanted to do dreds - it just takes so long and so long to get rid of. Then their was the time I cut my hair off to about an inch all over. Hair is fun, and all it does is grow back.

Okay now I need to go make relish.
