But the day I first set foot on a big cruise ship was the day I fell in love with the sea. To me it is the absolute perfect vacation. You only have to unpack once but you keep going different places. You don't get much time in ports, usually something like 7 am until 7 pm, but there are excursions of all kinds or you can do things on your own, the choices are plentiful. Sometimes we just like to stay on the ship when most everyone else is gone and ride around on the scooters and see every nook and cranny of the ship.
The first few cruises we took we did so much during the day that after dinner all we wanted to do was go to sleep. Soon we learned how much we were missing and learned the joy of a nap in the afternoon so we can go to the show at night. We have seen amazing shows including Jeff Dunham and all his puppet friends on a transatlantic cruise a few years back before he got so popular. And the production shows are absolutely amazing.
And where else can you have as many professional photographs taken as you want at no charge, only for what you buy?
And where else will they bring cake to your room for free if you just dial four little numbers? 24 hours a day? seven days a week? hmmm? Now that is a perk that rocks my world!
And why you might ask am I such a fan of Carnival Cruise Lines? Attitude. Plain and simple. They have it. And I like it. They aren't called the Funships for nothing! Buckle up buttercup!
The above is NOT a paid ad. It is my humble opinion.

Ciao cara Bee!
The first part of your post is o.k....the second part...too!!!
We liked travel, and remain some days in every district and learn all above tradition art and food!
Then it came sickness, operation and we are here, lke on a ship...only short trips, few hours...but it's so good to have memories!!!
Have a good day!
Wishes for sarge!!!
hugs!
we have had lots of fun kido...
I've never been on a cruise. The closest I came was taking one of the smaller ships to Catalina Island! I know, that doesn't quite qualify...My mom, dad, little brother and I would hop on one of the little boats out of San Pedro, in order to get their quicker and miss the crowds on the bigger boats. I remember one time, the captain let me ride on the bow of the boat with my back against the windshield. Yep, we're talking small. Can you imagine the liability ins that captain would have to pay in today's climate?
I loved the flying fish that would follow in the boat's wake, and I think that's where I first fell in love with dolphins.
Have a blessed Tuesday, y'all!
~~~Love 'n stuff~~~
Buckle up buttercup! Oh, I will be borrowing that phrase! I love it!
Attitude is very important in all facets of life, isn't it?
Have a great Tuesday, Miss Bee!
Agree with you 100% :)
I have been on one of those FUNSHIPS, unfortunately it was 20 years ago and I was a younger kid with my parents. I had fun, but you can only have so much fun as a 15 yr old with your parents. One of my goals is go get back on a ship with my hubby and no kids. Actually a group of us from Cambridge Drive have talked about how fun it would be to travel together.
Oh and by the way, I love your humble opinions. It is one of the reasons I enjoy reading this blog so much. :)
And....Buckle up Buttercup is one of the funniest things I have read in awhile. Cracks me up!
♥
I also like Buckle Up Buttercup ~ great line.
It's wonderful that you and Sarge have so many memories of fun times cruising. I've never been on a cruise. Maybe someday...
Enjoy your Tuesday!
Love your blog...It's nice to have such beautiful & meaning memories!
Sure hope Sarge is progressing nicely. It must be hard, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Just think - A cruise is only a few months away, and you have plenty of time to plan for it, so...
Buckle up buttercups!!
LUV, Auntie J.
Sarge you will have lots of fun again too!!! None of this HAD stuff! Got it.
I have yet to go on a cruise, but when I do it will be to Alaska, no doubt. Someday we will!!!
I just love your post today. Well I always love your post but todays sort of says exactly how I feel about cruising. I never dreamt of me going on a cruise ship. I use to watch the " LOVE BOAT " and think of me being on that ship. he first time I stepped on one I was even a little scared because of its size. But after being on the Freedom and the Valor and especially meeting all you wonderful people and John. It seems, I'm the one thats getting larger. I hope that I can continue to cruise on Carnival for a long time and seeing you and Charlie once in awhile.
Paul
I completely agree with you about cruises! For years I thought I wouldn't enjoy a cruise but my children picked that for our celebration of one graduating college, one starting college, and one going BACK to college - and I LOVED it. Best vacation ever! I've been on one more since then and it won't be my last, though I'll never catch up with you and the Bells!
Hugs to you and Sarge...
No, it's not a paid ad -- but when Carnival wants to use it in one of their real ads, get value for it, OK?
I know you love to cruise on the big ships Empress Bee. I love to go with you too. It won't be long and you and Sarge will be cruising again. No doubt in my mind at all. I'll be going along with the two of you too.
Have a terrific day. Big hug to you and Sarge. :)
I just wish they would allow cats on board!
we would like to cruise too! would they bring us tem-tay-shuns and toona and HAM to our rooms?
I'm already excited about my upcoming Caribbean cruise but you got me overexcited now Bee! LOL
The irony is I am scared of ships. I love to travel however, Europe is my favorite in the whole world. - just love European history
Carnival sent me a happy birthday e-card! It was super cute. :]] I woke up, checked my email, read your message to me, and then watched a carnival ecard! It was just so nice :]].
gonna buy Sarge's new camera online?? try Amazon
You are so right about cruising and about Carnival. We leave on a Carnival cruise--soon! Great value for your money I say.
Big hugs to you and Sarge...
Mom has never been on a cruise. perhaps after Blizzie graduates college... and we will certainly put carnival at the top of the list!
I like this picture of Sarge!
I hope both of you are doing well
purrrs
You and Sarge seem like such wonderful people. I have you both in my prayers. I come across as crass (who me?) but inside I am a big old pushover. You two have many years left together on a carnival cruise ship watching the sun slowly sink into the horizon. I just believe it. So as you say, Buckle up Buttercup!
