Yesterday was fun with Chuck. We went out to lunch and then he came over for a visit and then he and Sarge went to AA for a meeting. He seems good, he really does. I still am afraid to completely get my hopes up but I do it anyway. I guess that's part of being a mom.
What ever happened to green goddess salad dressing? Anyone remember that stuff? I liked it but forgot all about it until something (?) triggered my memory (fish oil?). It was sort of an odd color though. I liked to dip carrot sticks in it. I like carrot sticks. And cake.
Oh somebody stop me, I'm rambling and it won't quit! I'll try to make sense though. Hang on.
Gas prices were down a bit, did you notice that? I didn't think that would happen during the summer, it was a pleasant surprise. It inched up and all of the sudden it was back over $2.50 but yesterday I saw it for $2.47.
Oh it looks like I am newsy today. We are definitely in the summer weather pattern here in South Florida, storms every day and sun too. Hot hot hot. I am loving it, truly. If Sarge gets the apartment too cold all I have to do is go sit on the terrace and I warm right up. Doris works out there too. She likes it.
So Sarge is better now and not all sleepy and stuff. He wants to wait to do something about his knee until after the cruise in two weeks. He might get another shot before we go though.
Don't forget it's a brand new week and anything can happen! Have a lovely Monday. I know I will!

20 notes:
Buon Giorno Bee!
Buona Settimana!
We have hot, i prefer to remain inside...we looked at a part of a film, it's so sad!
The boy in the striped pijamas...
To morrow we go to the market, so i have to fill my purse!!!
Have a great week!
Glad for Chuck...a mom always hopes!
Ciao!!!
Gas here was $2.32 Saturday. I was afraid to even acknowledge it for fear it would go up again. hahaha!
Yay for a great day with Chuck and especially for how far he has come in his recovery!
My brother just up and left the rehab about a month ago. He hasn't called - just emails. We think he's relapsed, although he won't say. If he doesn't go see my parents this summer, we'll know. So sad to waste a life.
chuck looks good to me, his meeting is growing which is nice. There was an excellent speaker last night, recovery is there for anyone ready to accept the gift.
Sounds like a great weekend. Can't wait to follow along on your next cruise.
Sitting on the balcony sounds just perfect. We're getting cold nights, which is really odd for middle of July. But I will take it. I think I would hate being preggers and having to suffer through a hot summer, too.
Hope Sarge's knee is good for the cruise.
We'll keep good, positive thoughts on Chuck for sure.
Enjoy your week. Big hugs...
Our clients are in the oil business, I am one of the few people that is happy either way the gas prices go. If they go up, I make more money. If they go down, I save more.
Funny thing is it makes me happier to fill up when prices are down because I know everyone else is sharing the wealth.
We're heading for triple digits this week and I'm not looking forward to that. I'm glad you are enjoying the hot weather.
Have a terrific week too honey. Big hug. :)
Good morning Bee. I caught say much to day. We have the grandchildren for the day and after, you know what is after. Ha,ha,ha, No, not that Bee. I taking Marylou out for a special dinner. Then maybe??????????? See you.
Paul
I'm freezing here at work. They have the AC too high all summer long. Wish I could join you (& Doris) on your terrace.
79 days until we leave for our cruise. Yay!
I don't like that much heat. I can't take it, can't function.
We have had some perfect weather here lately, for a change. Today is gorgeous, 74 degrees and sunny.
I remember Green Goddess salad dressing.
;-)
Have a great Monday!
I'm so pleased for you and Sarge that Chuck is doing well. I can understand you being a bit wary of getting your hopes up but it's just something you do when you're a Mum. :)
I get seven seas green goddess dressing all the time! I order it online. it's still that weird color but it's really good.
My Mommie totally remembers that bright green salad dressing. Here is what I found on-line about the origins of Green Goddess:
"Green Goddess Salad Dressing is credited as having been created as a tribute to an English actor, George Arliss (1868-1946), who was appearing in San Francisco in a stage play entitled "The Green Goddess" by a Scotsman,William Archer (1856-1924).
Arliss, a prominent stage star, was staying at The Palace Hotel during the run of the play there in 1923. In preparation for a banquet in Arliss's honor, the Executive Chef of the hotel, Philippe Roemer, created a totally original salad dressing with an assortment of finely chopped green herbs which subtly suggest the name of the play. The dressing, especially delicious with the seafood for which San Francisco is famous, is regarded as the hotel's signature salad dressing and for decades has been served in the hotel's magnificent Garden Court Restaurant. Today it is most often served with the Dungeness Crab Salad and is the number one selling item at lunch time there. It has also been adopted by cooks all over the world who enjoy its distinctive flavor and intriguing name."
Glad to hear your days have been good! Sorry to hear Sarge has a bad knee! We are in our summer weather pattern too! And loving it emensely even if it does mean a ton of work and less reading time. All will change soon enough!
By the way, I do not get the facebook thing! My kids had me sign up one night when we were sitting around and I asked about one of their friends, they encouraged me to sign up so I could see how all the kids, now slightly grown up, from youth group days are doing. But I don't bother with it much anymore.
I love Green Goddess salad dressing! Especially with crab salad. I found a recipe for it, but couldn't find a key ingredient, anchovies, at my grocery.
I think it's a mom's job to always have hope, you know? Chuck looks good; maybe this time things will STICK.
Oh, and check this out:
Original Green Goddess Dressing
green goddess is still around. I'll get you a bottle next time I see it ( and some carrots too!)
No matter how old we get or how old our offspring, we will always be a mother. It's in the genes...have a lovely week Ms. Bee....ciao
I remember Green Goddess! I think everything has been replaced by ranch!
