Yesterday when I was speaking of givers and takers I neglected to mention something. By giver, I don't necessarily mean gifts. A giver gives from the heart. And word. And thought. And to my dear commenters, you are all givers, truly! Sometimes I have to drag one out of you but it's there, right on the tip of your fingers! And I love you for it.
Sarge mentioned that I neglected to give you an update on him yesterday. He is right. So here you go... Head - almost healed, he is now picking at the scab and still on antibiotics for it, left foot - still being soaked and bandaged, one more foot dr. appt., right foot - pretty good now, asthma - better with two more prednisone pills to go, nose - better, and finally butt - no known complaints today.
Sarge has been grousing lately about Disney World. He wants to go. We used to go all the time but have not been now in some years. They have a special now where they give a soldier or retired service person a free five day pass and a companion ( or five ) one for ninety-nine bucks. That's pretty danged cheap for that place. Plus we could stay on the grounds for 40% off. Well here is the thing. He wants me to plan the trip and he does this all the time. He'll say something like "I'd like to go on a cruise" and the next thing I know I have to find it. And y'all think it's me doing all this stuff! I want him to help on this one and he won't. l figure he wants to go and I could give a fig less so he should have to help. Maybe I am just over tired right now. I guess that is the case. I'll see how I feel in a few hours and maybe I can do it then. Stay tuned...
And have a lovely Sunday. I know I will.

Yay, I'm first!
I knew exactly what you meant about givers and takers Bee. Do you sometimes find that some people you meet in person drain your energy? It's like they're psychic vampires or something, or is it just me?! I know I'm a bit weird! Maybe I should take fish oil or eat more cake or something!
I definitely think Sarge should help you with the Disneyland project, since it's he that wants to go! Men, can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em!
I'm giving you an award but don't rush over coz I'm still writing the post (well, not at this minute of course, coz I'm here. Sometimes I wish I could type with my toes at the same time as typing with my fingers!).
Have a lovely Sunday. I hope you get plenty of sunhine and cake :) xxx
Bee,
How about if he bought you your favorite cake in return for taking care of the DisneyWorld trip ?
I find negotiating alway makes me more willing :)
Ahhh, Bee the poor guy, his foot is hurt, his noggin beat up on, his bu... well that's not for me to say, his little ol' bronchi stressed out, with all those antibiotics his flora has left him, scabs are itching, and you think he should have to sit in a nice soft chair at a computer and figure out a trip he wants to take? For crying out loud Bee, he found the deal, give a poor defensless fella a break, you'll make him cr... no I wasn't gonna say the "c" word, honest.
Maybe you aren't talking apples and oranges, oranges are sweet, maybe it is apples and cranberries. Nah, they're good for you, maybe apples and dandelion juice.
yeah for me. I knew what you meant.. Who needs a bunch of real presents anyway.. Just more crap to Dust.. From the heart is the Bestest..
Have fun whatever you decide to do when it comes to disney.. Just think this time you can run all over on your scooters and you get to go to the front of all the lines and at a huge discount in the cost.. Cheer up sweetie and go have a blast!!!!
Ciao cara Bee,
a positive thought is the best gift!
A lovely word, a virtual flower...and perhaps a little new bee in the garden, the expression of a new coming Spring!!!
Have a lovely Sunday!
Buona domenica a tutti!!!!
Aye the curse is that you make such a good cruise director that the job is now officially yours! I know you don't give a fig but I'll bet you'll have a whale of a good time if you spend a couple of hours putting the trip together. How can you pass up such a great deal? When is an offer like that going to come around again? Go do it for all of your blog fans that wish we were close enough and had such a great offer, let us live vicariously through you. Think of the photo ops for your blog! I'll bet you can find some really good cake there too! Me thinks you can find a little something to compensate yourself for your cruise director's services once you get there!
I love Walt Disney World. It's been years since I've been there; Disneyland just can't compare, but it's so much closer for me. We need to take our kids on a trip there soon.
Sorry I haven't been around all week, it got kind of crazy towards the end of the week and then I managed to get sick again somehow or other to boot. This has not been a good winter!
Glad to hear that Sarge is feeling better in most respects and that things are healing up.
As for Disney World, I couldn't give a fig myself as I was none too impresed with the place the one time I went. Believe it or not, I much prefer Disneyland to Disney World but I am probably in the minority when it comes to that.
I agree with Annie that you should try for a cake in exchange for making the reservations!
Hi Miss Bee,
I thoughts alot about your comments re givers and takers yesterday. Having trouble with a DD and I think she is a taker. I have given so much over the years, yet she behaves in a way that takers my heart. I'm there for her but taking my distance for a bit. I love your comments every morning.
Do Disney, you love to plan....he may not get the details in place as you would.
Regards
One thing that became so painfully evident to me when I was VERY sick during my year of HepC treatment, was that I was a taker. I never realized how ungrateful I was until I could not stand up without help. When I truely became thankful for someone feeding me, or helping me out of bed, or just holding my hand through the pain, I realized how few times in my life I had said "thankyou". Now that I am in health, I have to constantly remind myself not to go back to the way I used to be. Sometimes I forget. BUT..... I work with the most prolific "taker" I have ever met (you know who , doncha Bee??!) A woman who only thinks of her own profit, and never does one thing to make work easier for anyone but herself. "Thankyou"... she doesn't know the word.
At least I am in recovery!
Please remind me if I forget myself ( I mean don't forget myself) I honestly feel my heart is changed, but my brain is only semi-involved in A LOT of what I do! hehe.
I would never what this post to be about me. Love you both ((hugs))
Good Bight, Sunny, Sunday Bee. I was like Sarge . I kept saying to Marylou, lets on a vacation and she would say to me, " Paul, if you want to go on a vacation you're retired now and you make the plans." Well I'd never did such a thing before so I did it once ( first cruise ) and now I take care of it every year since. I wonder why us men just expect the ladies to do it. I just love now to arrange our cruise every year. Tell Charlie that I still read his blog but can't get through commenting on it. I must be a little weird because I'm still looking at my photos from my cruise on the Valor. Since you sent me some of those photos I've been looking at those also. Maybe it's because I really had a tremendous time or just weird. Well I have to take AmyLynn down to Tim Horton where she works. See you later.
Paul
OK,OK, let me explain something, we have chores, I do mine and you do yours. Physical is hard for you but you are a top notch planner, when you plan you are a giver.... when you make me plan, you are a taker, I like you a lot when you are a giver :>
I think it's a man thing this I quite fancy doing such and such you plan it! MWM does it all the time. :0
Mr BC is good about planning along with me, yet I am the one that reserves etc. since I am the detailer. I understand about givers and takers, and I try to limit time with takers as they can sap the life out of you.
Oh, I know where you should go! Have you ever stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge? You can see all sorts of amazing animals from your hotel balcony! It's awesome.
I like yesterday's postie. There is something we do not know about takers. they feel they deserve to take, I do not know why that is though.
We like giving. Mom says she skates, cleans and gives. Mom has never been to Disney World. Is it fun? She is saving her $$ to go on a mediterranean cruise (Italy, Greece etc) with her daughters and her nieces when everyone finally graduates from the college in about 3 years. Just girls.
I am glad to hear that Sarge is doing better. It is good that you are there to take care of him. Mom takes care of dad too. He works at home and has lots of eye problems already (inherited from his parents).
Well, you better get started on planning that adventure for the grousing Sargeguy!
purrrs for a happy day. It is drab cold and rainy here in No Virginia
Prinnie
Empress, my Empress,
As to Disney World...don't plan any trips there until the beginning of May. The place is crawling with spring breakers from now until the end of April. Long lines, long lines! But do plan a trip. It would be fun!
Kisses,
Princess Elaine
GO GO Go to Disney and have FUN!!
You are a true giver, Ms. Bee!! You took the time to give me my blog back. Please stop by my blog and pick up an award I created for you and 2 others who helped me limp back from a black hole. Again, thank you.
I always use to have an annual pass to Disney. You can imagine the many visitors and trips there! I went many times a year. My favorite Disney trip is staying at one of their family resorts. Park the car and never drive again until you check out of the hotel. Disney resorts ROCKS for their transportation and other amenities. I think its fabulous they have a special for military and their family!
Miss Bee, I am always the planner of events, too. I think, therefore I am! hahaha!
I like that apple photo Bee, nice lighting effect there.
That Sarge comment about wanting to do something and you having to do it is how things work in our house too. Except I'm the one making the "subtle" suggestion!
First of all, I LOVE that picture. It should be framed it's so good.
Makes me want an apple too.
I haven't felt like making too many round lately this week. What happened to Sarge? I need to catch up.
Hope you all are well. I've never been to Disney!
I tell you what....I'd love to do Disney World again sometime, but "the husband" only likes to do things once. He has already done Disney, a cruise, Hawaii, Australia, New York, Boston, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, The Greenbriar, The Biltmore and such, so he's not much interested in doing any of them again......so, I'll go with Sarge and you can play Canasta or Hand and Foot with "the slug".
I'm also the person who does all the vacation planning: from the dates to the airline ticket, car rentals and where to stay.
And I do get annoyed! Sometimes I think what I need is a concierge!
Love the apple photo...
I'm a giver and Hank's a taker. I give him a project to do and he takes care of it LOL!
:-D)
Yep, they just drain you dry. Just like I said on the other post. Drain you completely dry if you let them. Don't let them Empress Bee. Don't let them.
Have a great rest of Sunday honey. Big hug. :)
Give a hug to those crazy Mickey & Minnie for me!
I was lucky enough to get to go to Disneyland in CA in 2005. My first and only visit to the magical world of Disney. So glad I did!
Disney is all yours. My Sunday wasn't precisely lovely, as Saturday has bled over into it. About ten last night, Chris and I decided we wanted to move things around in the office. By five this morning we'd moved THREE rooms of furniture around-and discovered there are not enough grounded outlets in this house. One electrician later...
