Canasta on Sunday!

Woo Hoo! I am now the "go to" girl for Canasta. I love that! So no sitting home all day for me while Sarge plays poker. I was so happy when that phone rang.

Hey I had something yesterday for supper that we have not had in years and years! Fish sticks! They were crunchy and delicious too. I don't know why we never buy these but I will now because I remember how much I love them. They are not just for kids after all! I tend to get in such a rut with what we eat and I love it when I find a way to break out of the mold a little. I also made jello with peaches for dessert. Another old favorite. I am going to have to try to get creative more often.

It's time for the Tabebula Tree to bloom again. They are so beautiful. It's like it rains yellow blooms. The sidewalks are covered with the beautiful flowers under the tree. They are supposed to bloom the first day of spring. It's a tad early but I don't care. Bring it on!

Guess that's it from me today. Hope your Sunday is tits. I know mine will be!

I use to love fish sticks when I was a kid! I hardly eat anything fried anymore. Fried does not like me anymore.

Yay for being the 'Go to' Canasta gal!

Those flowers are beautiful but I am allergic to them, and so they cause me great distress. Have a double ear infection on top of everything else, so I am just miserable today, gotta get better, to take Mike to Tampa tomorrow.

Good morning Bee. Beautiful colour for that tree. This morning Paul & Jayne finished their back to back. I wonder how they made out? Did you read about the situation John had going to the Embers Restaurant in New Orleans. I never thought there was such a place that would treat people like that one. It just shows how great people on the Carnival ships are treated. The workers are such fantastic individuals on the ships. Have a great day my friend.

Have fun at Canasta. Being the "go to" girl is a very good thing.

I love fish sticks too. We have them on a regular basis around here. They are indeed yummy and quick to fix.

Have a terrific day Empress Bee. Big hug to you and Sarge. :)

Have a great time playing Canasta, Bee.

It is fun to break out of the rut, food wise. Who makes the best fish sticks ?

Those tabebula trees are beautiful !

So you're the Canasta go to girl! Well, I hope soon you'll be the MahJong go-to-girl as well!

Hmmm...I've never played canasta before. If I lived close, I'll bet you could teach me, though! Darn it.

Yes, indeed, canasta is a good way to spend a Sunday.

My maternal grandmother taught me to play canasta as a kid and I used to go across the street and play the game with Mrs. Evans, as well.

Now, for the life of me, the only thing I remember about the game is that it involves multiple decks of cards.

Perhaps we can get up a canasta tourney on the next blogger's cruise :)

Never heard of the tree but it is gorgeous!
I read the new cookbooks and don't know what half of the ingredients even are!
Have a terrific Monday, my dear...

Jell-o and fruit reminds me of my mother. It was the only dessert we could afford to have when I was a kid.

Thanks for the reminder. Costco had some really good fish sticks last year made by trident foods. Crunchy and made from cut fillets, not mashed fish cheeks. Gotta see if I can get them again this year. They were really, really good!

That tree is a beautiful shade of yellow. Reminds me of the forsythia we hopefully will see in early April..can't wait for spring!
