Thursday thoughts...and a Peace Globe

Those are Royal Palms. Aren't they beautiful? I love palm trees. It is one of the things I love most about Florida, well that and the warm air and the turquoise ocean. Did I mention I am happy to be here? Oh, I forgot, sorry.

Boy I was a little "bitchy" yesterday. I should not have been because I love being here. It was just the whole election thingy and two years worth of lead-up and then the let down of the results and all. Well I'll get over it.

I remembered a really funny story about my mother today. She was about 85 at the time and we went out to eat. She ate like a little bird until it came to dessert. She ordered pumpkin pie. You know how a pumpkin pie will sometimes split open? Well her pie came and it was split. The waiter brought whipped cream and asked her if she wanted some. She said "sure, just fill up my crack with it". He started laughing so hard he had to leave the restaurant and she just sat there and looked bewildered.

I didn't know whether to tell y'all that story or not, then finally I thought "what the heck, go for it, life is short". So there you go.

Hope your day is tits, I know mine will be...

I am so glad I sat down at my computer just about the time you posted this. This has kind of been my bitchy day and that story had me laughing out loud.

Thanks for posting it!

I was a little bitchy last night, but it was really bad today. All I did was sit on my butt and watch the depressing news and read stuff online until Matt came home. It's awful. I hope I'm not like this for 4 more years! :(

I love that story about Nanny! :) :) I miss her. I wish I remembered more stuff about her. I remember when she read "Old Mother Hubbard" to me and I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard. :) :)

Miss Bee, you should get bitchy more often if you are this funny the day afterward! Gosh, your mother sounds like a hoot!

More than 56,000,000 voters are disappointed, Auntie Bee. Mom is one of the 46 million who are without health insurance, so in addition to the free money he promised, she is also waiting for her affordable health insurance, too. When do you think that will happen, Auntie Bee. ♥

Calm down, give Obama a chance, I think he will be a good President, not everyone has the same views, but give him a chance, you might just change your mind about him. Be Open Minded, ok?

I remember that story often when I think of her, chuck was a kid at the time, strange how some things stay with you.

Great story, never be afraid to share memories. That ensures they live on...

Here's hoping you have a better day.

Beautiful palm tree picture Bee. And the water is gorgeous. The only thing I can't fathom is why you were "down" yesterday. I haven't gotten my heating bill yet, but I am sure it has already begun to plummet as a result of the poor and middle class' Savior being elected yesterday. Glory! But in Florida, you don't have to worry about heating bills. :)

I have been writing political satire so long, it has begun to spill over into my comments. Sorry.

Kisses.

Oh my goodness that is so funny. I just laughed out loud
here by myself. Glad you decided to tell us that story.

Peace to you and Sarge ~ enjoy your day. I know you will!

Relax my friend. Even though your man didn't win, life will go on. In our Canadian election, my person didn't win and I felt very bad but my life did go on and I'm preparing for my cruise. As soon as I think about my cruise all the bad things go away even though the problems won't go away, I'm still living, breathing and seeing my grandchildren. And you Bee, seeing that beautiful picture with the blue - green water as it rolls up the sand and the bright sunshine nothing would bother me and it shouldn't bother you. Forget about Tuesday. You still got Sarge and he has you. Man that is great. Life is fantastic. Ciao my lovely one.

Great quotes in your sidebar! As the pope once said: "If you want peace, work for justice." Economic justice is a good start. Peace to you!

I understand the whole "feeling a little bitchy" part; I'm feeling that way a bit myself today due to the 'smugness' of some people in regards to the world's longest election and its outcome. I am sick to death of politics and would rather not hear anymore about it for at least a little while however I'm afraid I'd have to move to another planet to accomplish that.

I love the story of your mother and the whipped cream and I'm glad you told it; it made me smile on a day when smiling is coming kind of tough! Maybe I need a piece of cake??

Akelamalu said...

The story of your mom and the pumpkin pie was hilarious. Love your Peace Globe Bee. Peace to you and yours. x

Oh My Goodness...I really think I can comment, now that there is a different comment box! Thank you! I am so loyal and so silent.

So, first of all....hubby and I are dieting and I feel that anyone could put whipped cream anywhere and I would love it!

Next... I figure I should be grateful that the Senate doesn't have a super majority, yet. But, I am upset that the miserable so and so's in the Republican Party are picking on Sarah Palin. Looks like the operatives are the ones who did the lousy job. I am even upset with FOX News and their reporting of this Palin Hack Job.

Hi Bee,
I know you have the "live traffic feed" doohickey and wanted you to know I'm not lurking..I showed my mother the story about your mom..she laughed out loud as well.

Peace be with you, Bee. Loved the story about your mom. School is going to be a challenge this term not to mention my computer's motherboard decided it was time to pass this earthly world last night so Chris was up all night putting me *something* together to use for school today. *sigh*...off to the grindstone as soon as I get enough caffeine in me to be able to type coherently, which as you can see from this post...is not quite yet!
