And it's a whole new week!

You know around these parts they eat boiled peanuts. I have no idea why, but they do. They are about the worst thing you could think of eating. Really. I think if I was on Survivor I would have to eat a bug before I could eat a boiled peanut. But not everybody thinks about them like I do. Well, obviously, or they wouldn't sell any now would they?

We also have sorghum syrup around these parts too. I don't eat that either. It looks so good but trust me, it's like horhound cough drops, tastes nothing like it smells. Now Sarge, he LOVES sorghum syrup. He mixes it up with a glob of butter and smears it on a biscuit. I used to think it was a developed taste but trust me on this one, I have tried it every year for more than I can count now and it still sucks. Belch...

Sarge is feeling pretty good now and I am trying to feel better too. It's just a cold but trust me, when you are short a lung just a cold is a major event. It usually goes to bronchitis. I am hoping to avoid this.

So our time is short in Podunk. Three weeks left. I still have so many things I want to do. Places I want to see with the fall colors. Luckily Sarge likes to do this too so we shall have some day trips coming up soon hopefully. With photos of course!

And it's about time for some pumpkin pies in this house! I think I'd better get started on that.

Oh, and gasoline is plentiful around here now and the prices are dropping too. What a blessing that is!

Y'all have a wonderful Monday. I know I will...

I hate boiled peanuts too.

You're not the only one sick! Little Annie got sick tonight too. So she is sleeping in the kitchen tonight, and she is NOT happy about that! She sure is a sad sick puppy. I tried to put her on a leash outside in case she got sick again, but she was having none of that and cried her little heart out when I shut the door. Poor thing. I hope you both feel better ASAP!

Gee, boiled peanuts, I can't imagine! Every region and ethnic group has their weird foods don't they? Sometimes genetic predisposition doesn't even help or holding your nose or breath.

I am so glad you are on the mend. I hope you get your fill of autumn color before you head south-ier. I look forward to pictures of a place I have never been and how beautiful it is.

Me still sick too. and I DO have bronchitis. All from 20 minutes in a "sick building" I called and wrote to the coporate office, and did not even get the decency of a response. Well, I'm takin my sick behind right over there and hack on them tomorrow. In fact ,it is 2 am, and I had to get up to hack the crap out of my lungs, so I can breath enough to go back to sleep. BOO HOO!
ohh..... I meant to say.... I LOVE boiled peanuts!!

AND... since a peanut is technically a legume, there is no reason NOT to boil them!

The first time Mom say boiled peanuts she wondered what was wrong with these people, boiling peanuts. Then one night at a dirt track race, she tried some and loved them! But they were very messy and the wet made her hands cold. So she doesn't eat them anymore.

We hope you're all better today! Only 3 weeks in Podunk makes us sad, Auntie Bee.

I've never had boiled peanuts. But I do like me some sorghum on my biscuits and pancakes. I hear ya about the colds and bronchitis thing. While I still have both lungs, it does the same with me.

Hope you two feel better soon. Enjoy those beautiful Fall colors.

i don't know if i have ever had boiled peanuts, doesn't sound too tasty. but i would probably try them if they were around. i remember seeing road side stands while we vacationed in your neck of the woods a few months ago.

I do not think boiled peanuts sound very delicious either. But I do enjoy a little bit of peanut butter once in a while.

Boiled peanuts. I've never heard of such a thing. It doesn't sound good either.

Hope you feel better soon and can get out with Sarge for a day trip of the fall colors. There must be lunch too along with cake. I think that is a rule for day trips isn't it?

Have a great day too honey. Big hug and lotsa lovies to you and Sarge. :)

Hopefully this cold will stay a cold. It's already overstayed its welcome, I am certain.

Good afternoon and what an afternoon Bee. It will eventually hit 80 degrees today, October 13th, my dad's birthday. He would have been 84 years of age. You know Bee, I still miss my dad a great deal. You'd think after 8 years I might feel a little better but I feel the same way when we put dad in the mausolem, I'm not sure if I spelled it correctly. I hope that you are taking good care of yourself? Did you take your flu shot yet? I have to get mine soon. You'll feel better when you and Sarge get to Florida. Let us know if Carnival emails you back regarding your email to them. I would be very interesting of what they said. Well, I have to arrange our dinner soon. We are having drumsticks for dinner. Get well and rest my friend. Ciao.

The times I've been down south I've seen all sorts of signs for boiled peanuts but I just never had the courage to try them as they just sound kinda blah to me. I'm going to trust your tastebuds and congratulate myself on making the right choice and NOT trying them! Now roasted peanuts, though ... totally different story!

Only three weeks left in Podunk? Good grief, winter is coming fast, isn't it?

Dick loves boiled peanuts, but I'd rather have the roasted ones. Sorghum syrup SUCKS! Give me honey any day. Hope you feel better soon. We sure want to see y'all before you leave. The last of the family leaves in the morning. It's been a BUSY week! I'm tired!

Yuck, boiled peanuts sound awful. I'll take your advice and stay away from them, and that sorghum syrup.
